San Diego Taco Tuesday Happy Hours
• American Junkie, Gaslamp Quarter –$5 all-you-can-eat tacos 5-10, $6 tequila shots, $8 house margaritas. Note: American Junkie has Happy Hour seven days a week, 3-7, extended to 8 on Fridays. Thursdays are $1 drafts 8-9 and $1 pizza slices.
• Blue Water, Ocean Beach – $4 fish tacos, $7 blackberry margaritas
• Medina, North Park – $3 Pacificos, $5 fries, $10 loaded fries (Morracan) 2-5 p.m.
• South Beach Bar & Grill, Ocean Beach – $3.95 tacos (excluding lobster & halibut), $7.50 Patron margaritas, all day starting at Noon. Also, Taco Thursday, $3.95 Tacos All Day (excluding lobster & halibut), Noon-9, $5 pints from 3-close. M-F, $7 Mai Tais until 6.
• Tacaliente – $1.25 tacos, $3 beers, 2-9
• Working Class, North Park – burger, fries, beer for $15
It must be noted that, due to the surfing culture of Southern California, tacos are the quintessential food item of San Diego. Nearly every restaurant and bar in the city – big and small – has them, and most have some sort of Taco Tuesday. This list is meant to be the best ones, which includes not just the tacos but drink prices and atmosphere.
