
Bring your lawn chair or blanket, cooler and picnic basket – even your dog or pet – and enjoy free concerts this summer at San Diego’s Liberty Station.
For three Saturdays in July, August and September, the Arts District Liberty Station presents Summer Arts Fest, Taking place from 4-7 p.m., on the second Saturdays on the North Promenade, the event features bands and performances, all for free.
The dates are July 12, Aug. 9 and Sept. 13.
“This event is truly special because it highlights the incredible talent within our local music scene and gives artists a platform to connect with the community,” says Lisa Johnson the President and CEO of Arts District Liberty Station. “Summer Arts Fest isn’t just about great music but also about celebrating creativity and keeping San Diego’s vibrant artistic spirit thriving. Whether you’re a blues, pop, R&B or jazz music fan, we invite everyone to come out and soak up the good tunes.”
The lineup of live music and entertainment features the powerful vocals of Whitney Shay, the soulful grooves of Kogee Soul Reprise and the high-energy sounds of Bambú Sound Exchange. Below are additional details on this year’s performers.
Whitney Shay | July 12
Whitney Shay, known for her sparkly dresses and fiery tresses, is a five-time San Diego Music Award Winner and is regarded as the future of blues. Her latest release Ruf Records Stand Up! debuted at #1 on the Billboard Blues Album Charts and reached #1 on the Roots Music Report Blues Album Charts. Whether in studio, on screen, or on stage, Whitney Shay’s electric energy and soulful style keep listeners connected and coming back for more. Don’t miss the chance to experience her electric energy and soulful style live on Saturday, July 12.
Kogee Soul Reprise | August 9
Kogee Soul Reprise, led by singer Kori Gillis, brings soul, storytelling, and global experience to the stage. Growing up in a musical family, Kori has been heavily influenced by genres including Motown, classic soul, gospel, and jazz. After graduating from the Armed Forces School of Music, he became the lead male vocalist for both Navy Band Southwest and the Naval Forces. His most recent project, Silver Lining, received a San Diego Award nomination for Best R&B album, a testament to his artistry and impact. The community is invited to come out to North Promenade and see Kogee Soul Reprise live on Saturday, August 9.
Bambú Sound Exchange | September 13
Bambú Sound Exchange is an analogue dance music collective, synthesizing global groove music with soulful moods of Deep House and Electronica. Led by producers and DJs Andrei Taru (bass) and Mitchum Yacoub (drums), the band’s improvisational style brings a unique vibe to every performance. Their live shows often feature an all-star lineup of musicians from acclaimed acts like Don Carlos, Aaron Frazer, Kali Uchis, and more. Known for creating spontaneous arrangements, Bambú Sound Exchange reads the energy of the room and responds in real time, creating an immersive musical experience. Don’t miss their electrifying performance at North Promenade on Saturday, September 13.
