Big beers, oompha (and other) bands and the chicken dance returns to San Diego this October for the 2025 La Mesa Oktoberfest celebration.
Here are the dates, details and informaton on the 2025 event.
The dates are Oct. 3-5. The hours are 4-10 on Friday the 3rd; 10 a.m.-10 p.m., on Saturday the 4th and Noon-8 p.m., on Sunday the 5th. The event is free, tho entrance into the main adult area, the Hofbräuhaus Biergarten, is $8. VIP starts at $15. The location is La Mesa Village, which is right across from the Orange line trolley stop (La Mesa Blvd.) so there’s no need to drive.
Among the bands playing in the main biergarten are Cassie B (8:30-10) on Friday night, the Jimmy’s Buffett tribute band and Paging The 90s cover band on Saturday (12:30-1:15 and 8:30-10) and on Sunday it’s an encore Jimmy’s Buffett show (2:15-3), Foo Fighters cover band Faux Fighters (4:15-5) and Journey cover band Journeyman (6:15-8). There are additonal stages and beer gardens, too, as well as food vendors and games such as a stein-holding contest, keg holding, tire flipping, and tug-o-war.
