A new event, the Taste of College Area, is coming to San Diego.
In a city filled with fun events, the Taste of College Area takes place on Sunday, Sept. 29, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The location is throughout the College Area & Rolando Neighborhood Commercial Corridor (El Cajon Boulevard between 54th Street & 73rd Street and on the SDSU Campus).
It features samples from the area’s 25 restaurants, among them Ben n Esther’s Vegan Jewish Deli, Broken Yolk, Cheba Hut, Corbin’s Q, Cravory Cookies, Dirty Birds, Epic Wings (2 locations!), Eureka!, Handel’s Ice Cream, Himalayan Yak & Yeti, Jersey Mike’s, Kuro Sushi, Oggi’s Pizza, Sala Thai Ultreya Coffee & Tea and Woodstock’s Pizza.
Tickets are $40 for GA and $50 for VIP. which includes discounted drinks at select “oasis” bars & pubs and an event shot glass (while supplies last).
A unique aspect of Taste of College Area is being able to tour the College Area on complementary Old Town Trolleys.
“Over the past 5 years, the College Area Business District has undergone a great transformation through business investment bringing more viable businesses and restaurants to the area.” Jim Schneider, Executive Director of the College Area Business District. “We believe that we are ready to invite the world to come discover a formerly under-recognized neighborhood and experience our contribution to what makes San Diego a great place to live, work and play.”
