Block Party Features Costume Contest, EDM DJs & A Singles Scene

San Diego’s rocking Gaslamp Quarter is plenty lively on normal weekends, and a few times a year it adds to this by holding big block parties.
There’s one for Fat Tuesday and St. Patrick’s Day and also Halloween.
Regarding the latter, it’s called the Monster Bash and the 2016 event is Saturday night, Oct. 29.
This ticketed event features 20 DJs – including EDM – on five stages, a costume contest with a $5,000 prize, a “freak show” and, most importantly, tends of thousands of San Diego’s free-thinking, fun-loving party people. Many of whom are, of course, single.
General admission tickets are $60 through Oct. 28 and $66 at the door on Halloween night. It’s important to note that GA tickets sold out in 2015.
VIP tickets are $110 thru Oct. 28 and $120 at the door on Halloween night. VIP includes includes two drinks plus six others at designated bars (keep reading) and private restrooms. Here’s the six other drinks you get at specific bars: Sailor Jerry at The Field, Coyote Ugly and East Village Tavern & Bowl, Devil’s Ice Tea at Don Chido, Sailor Jerry’s Sweet Tea at Dragon’s Den and a Dos Equis lager at Tilted Kilt.
A Monster Bash wristband also gets food and drink specials and free cover at more than 20 different participating restaurants and bars in the Gaslamp Quarter and East Village.
And it’s going in and out of the bars – some have no cover all night, some not until 10 and some Gaslamp bars never have a cover – that really make these Gaslamp events a blast.
And in this case, a ghoulish blast.
