
This upscale tasting is set for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 7-8, at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) in La Jolla (formerly the lcoation of one of the founding ladies of La Jolla, Ellen Browning Scripps). The times are 3-7 p.m. on Saturday and 1-5 p.m., on Sunday.
Tickets are $100 for Saturday and $90 for Sunday and are available here, including ones for a VIP experience ($200). GA tickets include a one-day return to the MCASD and a one-year membership with VIP tickets.
The upscale two-day event features mixology professionals and restaurateurs who craft coctails and explore industry trends from more than 20 distilleries and 65+ brands. Vodka varieties include a Southern California launch of Beattie’s Distillery, Beam Suntory’s launch of -196 Lemon Vodka Seltzer, and selections from Plush Vodka.
Top-level agave labels include Sammy Hagar and Guy Fieri’s Santo, Padre Azul, Ate Tequila, Luna Nueva, Mezcal Union and El Cristiano.
There are also whiskey and bourbon distillers such as Uncle Nearest, Bob Dylan’s Heaven’s Door, Old Hillside, Sukari flavored whiskeys and Natterjack Irish Whiskey. Plus fine spirits from Chinola Liqueur, West Peak Cocktails, Hive₂0 hard honey beverages, Distilleria Nardini and Above Board Cocktails, a new San Diego-based distillery that will be launching at the festival.
In addition to the spirits, the event features live music, great views of the La Jolla coastline and the opportunity to mingle with top industry professionals and other San Diego cocktail and spirits enthusiasts. It will also have the crowning of the San Diego Spirits Festival International Bottle Competition winners, including best overall and in categories for whiskey, rum, brandy, gin, vodka, agave spirits, liqueur and RTDs.
