El Chingon, Prohibition and Havana 1920, all within steps of one other on Fifth Ave., are the hosts for the events, sponsored by Bacardi, on the second Saturday of each month. The dog adoption and fundraising event seeks to bring together prospective “paw-rents” while raising funds for The Animal Pad (TAP).
The first in the series will take place on the neighboring outdoor patios of Havana 1920 and El Chingon and inside the speakeasy Prohibition on Saturday, Oct, 14, from Noon -4 p.m.
There will be adoptable dogs and hand-crafted cocktails. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of select cocktails will benefit The Animal Pad, a local nonprofit organization committed to rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters and the streets of Mexico.
Specialty charitable cocktails will include the Pawloma, a combination of Patrón tequila, St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, grapefruit juice, lime and agave, priced at $15; and more to be announced as available. The event will also showcase a variety of vendors, including JustFoodForDogs, PupLid premium hats, Puppy Playa clothes and accessories, Wonder Dog Training, photographer Peanut and Bean Photo, and Dog Devoted Vintage, among others.
