After celebrity-filled grand openings, red carpets and a Hollywood type of hype, Nick Jonas’ One Tequila Bar and Nick Cannon’s Wild ‘N Out bars have both closed.
This is because the building they shared, Sugar Factory at Fifth Ave., and G Street in the Gaslamp Quarter, has, closed.
So much for LA’s Hollywood influence in the Gaslamp. Sugar Factory opened in 2018 as an upscale movie theater and funky restaurant and bar with Vegas-style drinks while Wild & Out and Villa One Tequila Gardens each just opened, as in 2022.
While there are some loose plans to expand Mr. Tempo Mexican Cantina and pair with the owners of King & Queens Cantina on Kettner just up from the Waterfront Park to create a Tulim, Mexico-inspired upscale steakhouse, nothing is finalized as of early 2023. The Wild & Out location, which has its entrance on Sixth Ave., will likely be leased to another business.

Nick Jonas’ Villa One Tequila Gardens just opened back in the summer. It was a rooftop-only bar on the top of the building with a big garden-type of wall as its distinguishing decor, along with tables in an outdoor garden type of atmosphere. PubClub.com was at the premier and you can read the review here.

Nick Cannon’s Wild ‘N Out had the well-known host of a show with the same name at a jam-packed red carpet opening, also just last year. The bar was like a funky sports emporium with games like pop-a-shop, drinks in punchbowls and a DJ. PubClub.com was at its opening night ,too, ,and you can read the review here.
The Sugar Factory seemed to be quite popular with celebrity-loving people and the movie theater upstairs had a dozen small theaters with big, comfy leather recliners. You could even hit a button and order drinks delivered to your seat. I saw Top Gun: Maverick in total comfort from one of those recliners.
