The best deal for drinks on St. Patrick’s Day in San Diego may well be at one of its top restaurants.
Lionfish, located at the Pendry Hotel in the Gaslamp Quarter, is offering shots of of Jameson Irish Whiskey and drafts of green beer, each for just $5. This is on March 17 during the bar/restaurant’s Sunday hours of 5-9 p.m.
That is just one of many specials during March, that also includes a country music concert, Daylight Savings Time, the Padres home-opener at Petco Park and Easter Sunday.
After the Chris Stapleton concert at Petco Park on Saturday, March 2, Lionfish has truffle fried chicken and waffles featuring Korean hot chicken, mochi waffles, truffle butter, house hot sauce and smoked maple, priced at $50. With proof of concert ticket, you get a free shot of “Tennessee Whiskey,” which is actually Maker’s Mark, a Kentucky bourbon but close enough if it’s free, right!?
For Day Daylight Saving Time on March 8, there espresso martinis made with Absolut Vodka will are $10.
On March 21, Corks and Canvases in the private dining room is colorful night of wine, food and art as diners get to paint their own masterpiece while drinking a complimentary glass of wine from Caymus Vineyards. Priced at $100, people will be provided with arts supplies and receive hands-on guidance from a professional artist. The evening’s budding-artists will also be able to purchase from the restaurant’s exceptional wine list and à la carte menu. For the Padres home opener on Thursday, March 28, Lionfish will step up to the plate for the Padres’ with a specialty pairing featuring Karaage Baseball Sliders, milk buns filled with chicken karaage, Asian slaw, gochujang aioli, wasabi mayo, cilantro and negi, paired with a shot of Crown Royal whisky, for $25.
Easter Sunday is March 21 and Lionfish has two special dishes that day. One is 16-ounce Sriracha maple honey glazed bone-in pork chop, accompanied by carrot purée, English peas, fennel salad and pea tendrils, priced at $65. A spiced carrot cake baked Alaska made with miso caramel, bourbon cream cheese filling and vanilla ice cream topped with meringue marshmallow fluff, is $26.
Lionfish is open from 5- 9 p.m. on Sunday through Wednesday, from 5-10 p.m. on Thursday and from 5-11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
