San Diego is a fun place to be for Memorial Day Weekend, and it’s even better with these happenings at the bars and restaurants.
But before diving into that scene, Cloak & Petal in Little Italy is honoring fallen heroes and veterans all weekend from May 24-27 with two fundraising menu items, the Stars and Stripes Roll with yellowtail, blackened shrimp, avocado, yamagobo, sweet thai chili ponzu, garlic aioli, tobiko, sriracha salt, and hearts on fire, and BBQ Ribs: BBQ spare ribs with chili crisp hot honey and BBQ mac salad with smoked bacon crumbles.
Veterans receive a 15% discount and proceeds from these two specialty menu items will benefit the Sabot Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to suicide prevention, health programs and public education for veterans. Diners are also invited to make a donation at the time of their check, which Cloak & Petal will match up to $5,000.
