5 Reasons SD Rocks It With Bars & Clubs

In many ways, San Diego is that forgotten cozy city to the south while California’s other more marquee destinations – LA and Hollywood, San Francisco – take center stage.
But it is also a prime place to visit and yes, San Diego does indeed have very good nightlife. PubClub.com, the experts when it comes to nightlife, explains why in this post.
1.) Great Diversity In San Diego’s Bars
The greatest attribute San Diego has its diversity and that is certainly true when it comes to nightlife. San Diego has bars at the beaches, the dynamic Gaslamp Quarter, the refined Little Italy, plus
2.) The Bars In San Diego’s Beach Cities

With Mission Beach, Ocean Beach and Pacific Beach – let alone the North County Beach Cities of Del Mar, Solona, Encinitas and Carlsbad – there’s plenty of drinking spots in the the area’s California laid-back beach communities. Pacific Beach has the most singles, followed by Mission Beach, and here you can sit outside and pound beers while watching the action on The Strand (also known as the Boardwalk) at places like The Wave and Lahina, or drink until last call at little dives such as Thruster’s.
3.) The Bars In The Gaslamp Quarter
This is your one-stop shopping area for nightlife, for this area between downtown and the waterfront Convention Center has every type of pub, club, bar and nightclub you can imagine. There’s the big Vegas-style nightlife at Omnia, the country kick-up club Moonshadows, the line of bar-restaurants along Fifth Ave. (many of which have either have dance clubs or longes in the basement) such as the ever-popular Barleymash, small restaurants that become pumping mini-clubs like Sadid and the unique, such as PubClub’s favorite Trailer Park After Dark.
4.) Little Italy’s Sophisticated Singles Scene
Little Italy, just a couple miles from the Gaslamp, has a European atmosphere with bars at restaurants and wine bars comprising much of the scene. Here, the girls look like fashion models and the guys keep pace with fashionable threads. It’s not a wild and crazy spot for nightlife but it’s certainly a place for a sophisticated singles scene.
5.) San Diego’s Awesome Events & Festivals
One of the most overlooked aspects of nightlife (well, not by PubClub anyway) are the events and festivals. And San Diego has plenty of them that keep city’s single people partying all year around.
In addition to many beer festivals, there is St. Patrick’s Day with a parade and a block party, the unbelievable Comic Con, Del Mar Opening Day, the incomparable Over The Line tournament (two weekends!) and the sensational the Wine + Beer Festival Grand Tasting held outside at the Embarcadero next to San Diego Bay.
