Temaki Bar In Encinitas is having several offerings in March, including a special sushi roll for St. Patrick’s Day.
The Mystic Mc is a rainbow roll filled with albacore, salmon, hamachi, avocado, cucumber and sesame topped with krab, shrimp mix, tobiko, lemon and shiso. The price is $17 and green sake bombs, priced at $5, are available on March 17.
Temaki Bar also has a trio of specials on Easter Sunday, which is March 31. It has Bunny Baskets or inari, sweet tofu pockets filled with a choice of rice, spicy tuna or krab, priced at $6 for two pieces; Bloomin’ Roll, a rainbow roll filled with albacore, salmon, hamachi, avocado, cucumber and sesame and topped with krab, shrimp mix, tobikko, lemon and shiso, priced at $17; and draft beers for $5.
There’s more to Temaki Bar’s version of “March Madness.” Its March menu includes a four-piece appetizer of takoyaki, spicy mayo, eel sauce and bonito flakes, priced at $12; 12 Gage, a hand roll made with hamachi, shrimp mix, yuzu kosho, termaki red, serrano peppers, eel sauce, Bubu arare and lemon, priced at $12; and Powerslide, a cut roll made with krab, shrimp tempura, gobo, jalapeño and mango and topped with seared albacore, poke sauce, lemon and chukka, priced at $22. Guests may also choose from two drink specials, Hakutsuru plum wine, priced at $36, and a 16-ounce can of Brazen Sensei, an American IPA, priced at $9.
To celebrate Daylight Saving Time on Sunday, March 10, Temaki has all hand rolls for $5.
Then there is Temaki’s highly acclaimed Omakase tasting experience, available Mondays-Thursdays from 5-8 p.m. on Monday through Thursday. Honoring the traditional style of Omakase, which translates literally to “I leave it up to you,” each chef-guided multi-course menu is curated daily from the freshest ingredients and fish currently available at market. Omakase selections may vary but are likely to include a few of the restaurant’s signature favorites such as yellowfin tataki, chūtoro, kampachi, Hokkaido scallops, snapper, salmon, o-toro or bluefin. The price is $85.
