What’s better than a place offering bottomless beers on National Beer Day?
Not much.
And that is exactly what this spot in San Diego’s North County is doing – it has bottomless draft beers for $25.
It is Temaki Bar located on the happening stretch of Highway 101 in downtown Encinitas. And the beers aren’t the cheap stuff; they are Harland Brewing Co.’s Japanese Lager and Sapporo Premium Beer’s pale ale. National Beer Day is Monday, April 7.
So what’s the catch? There isn’t one. Oh, you can get some of its sushi, including Dre’s Pop N’ Rock handroll, made with Pop Rocks popping candy, Bang Bang shrimp and mango, priced at $10; Mama’s Roll, a soy paper cut roll handcrafted with shrimp tempura, blue crab, ooba and cucumber inside and topped with seared salmon, sweet soy, sesame seeds, negi and lemon, priced at $24; and more. But that’s a bonus, not a catch.
Temaki also has a bingo night and on National Beer Day it’s upping it to Bingo & Beers,” bringing an extra round of fun. The event will be held from 608 p.m., includes prizes.
National Beer Day is one of the orginal national drink and food days, started by a gent named Justin Smith. He told PubClub.com that “when I started National Beer Day back in 2009, I was surprised to find out that this important date in US history wasn’t already recognized.”
He added that, “I like to compare it to Independence Day in that while we have a specific day to celebrate our country and our freedoms as Americans, we don’t have to wait until July 4th to be thankful for them. “National Beer Day is the day that we celebrate the ability to drink that other 364 days a year. For everyone that has used beer to celebrate a special day, we now have a special day to celebrate beer.”
