Use This Tip To Experience San Francisco’s Most Popular Tour

This attraction is so popular, it is sold out for days – or even weeks – in advance. If you don’t have your tickets well ahead of when you want to go there, then you’re likely not going to Alcatraz.
Except if you follow this one tip: book the Alcatraz Island/Angel Island Combo Tour.
This tour is less crowded and thus, easier to book a trip. It’s even possible to do this at the dock for those who get a sudden Alcatraz inspiration. Tho it it not necessarily advisable to wait until the last moment but if you just walk up and see the Alcatraz tour is sold out (likely) then inquire about the Combo Tour.
In collaboration with California State Parks and the National Park Service, Alcatraz Cruises offers a seasonal tour including both Angel Island State Park and Alcatraz Island. This combination tour runs during the spring and summer seasons and is available through Oct. 27.
Ticket prices are $78.65 per adult/junior (12-61); $52.40 for children (5-11); $66.40 for seniors (62+); and free for toddlers (0-4). By comparison, a ticket to Alcatraz is $39.90 for adults.
The combination tour is a 5½ hour journey and gives you more time in San Francisco Bay. The ride to Alctraz itself is just 15 minutes, yet with Angel Island, there is much more time on the water, which is a pleasant way to spend a morning or afternoon in the City by the Bay.
Ticket prices include the ferry rides to both islands, a one-hour historic tram tour on Angel Island, the cell-house audio tour on Alcatraz and daily optional programs and exhibits. (Note: the tour of the Angel Island Immigration Station is not included in the Alcatraz & Angel Island Combination Tour).
