The Great San Francisco Pillow Fight
Okay, this isn’t necessarily romantic, but it sure is a different way to spend your Valentine’s Day. And fun! Some 1,000 people participate in a giant pillow fight at Justin Herman Plaza (recently utilized as the location of Super Bowl City). It starts at 6 p.m. Here’s some tips: Arrive at least by 5:30, bring something to cover your mouth from flying feathers (seriously), don’t bring a pillow with feathers and bring a garbage bag to help clean up afterward. This event is free. Then go to one of these bars near Justin Herman Plaza.
Conservatory of Flowers’ Aphrodesia After Hours
Come for a special after hours celebration of the libido enhancing power of plants. Strolling through the Conservatory’s lush and steamy tropical jungle, visitors can get up close and personal with many living examples of the plants purported to be aphrodisiacs and will also have an opportunity to smell and taste some of the spices that have long been treasured for perking up more than the meal. Enjoy a free glass of champagne or try one of three stimulating specialty cocktails at the cash bar.
