Free San Francisco Concert Series Runs All Summer

Opening day is Sunday, June 17 and features an event organizers are call “The Big Picnic.”
This is Stern Grove Festival’s fundraising event, which raises nearly $600,000 each year and kicks off the Festival’s summer season of free concerts and arts education programs.
Taking place prior to the free concert, The Big Picnic Party is a ticketed, private event taking place at 11:30 a.m. Ticket-holders receive parking and reserved picnic table seating in the meadow for the concert, which starts at 2 p.m., and features two of America’s most lauded R&B/soul sensations, Peabo Bryson & Jeffrey Osborne.
The concert is admission-free and open to the public with concert meadow lawn seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The cost for The Big Picnic Party starts at $250 which includes snacks and beverages. For the full range of ticket options, go to: www.sterngrove.org/thebigpicnic.
“The Big Picnic is a day where the Festival’s board, donors, sponsors, performers, staff, and patrons should be celebrated — we should all feel good about what the Festival has provided to the community for FREE, year after year,” said Ilana Vasconcelos, the organization’s new Director of Development.
The Stern Grove Festival occurs every Sunday from 2-5 p.m., for 10 consecutive weeks from June 17 -Aug. 19. You can bring your own food and drinks (yes, adult beverages are allowed).
