When it comes to all the fun things you can see and do in the Windy City, it’s really a tough choice.
Though Chicago doesn’t scream “party” like Miami, you’re experienced enough to know that you can have a really good time in every city. It just takes a little bit of digging, and I’ve done the dirty work for you. So take a look at some of the most intriguing places, and observe some of the things that you can only see in Chicago!
Take A Look Down From The Willis Tower Skydeck
OK, perhaps you’ve done this before in some other metropolis, but the thrills and chills from looking down on the skyscrapers below you are worth experiencing it once more, aren’t they? After all, how often do you get the chance to see four states at the same time? Now, that’s an epic selfie right there. Not to mention, you can go inside the glass box in the evening hours, too.
Drink And Chill At The Rooftop Bars
Speaking of the rooftops, how about having drinks at one of the rooftop bars? You’ll have an amazing view while holding a beer or a cocktail in your hand.
What’s really awesome about the city is the fact that such places are abundant, and there is a great variety of them! You can go to a whiskey and beer pub such as Fountainhead, eat sausages and delicatessen in another one, lounge at Drumbar’s roof, or try some seriously innovative cocktails at a chic place called Apogee. If these sound like your favorite place to spend hot summer nights, make sure you explore the best place to stay to be in the centre of the action.
Get Refreshed At The Spitting Fountain
Indeed, one of the biggest tourist attractions that you just can’t miss out on is letting a 17-metre fountain spit on you. Check out the Twin Towers covered in LED lights and glass bricks, showing faces of some 1,000 Chicago citizens looking at you, then puckering their lips, and spitting on you, of course! It sounds silly and fun, and it really is. This is how the fountain works. Where else do you get to see this? Exactly – nowhere. So, go and cool down at this place.
Try A Led Zeppelin burger
We’ve told you what to see and where to get your drinks, and this is where you can have the best burgers in the state of Illinois!
You know a restaurant serves some great food if it’s always full, and this burger joint is always crowded. One part of its appeal lies in the fact that every mouth-watering meal is named after heavy-metal band, Led Zeppelin. But that alone can’t explain the numbers of people swarming here. You gotta go and have a bite yourself to see if the burgers live up to their famous names.
Go Dancing At Millennium Park
If you enjoy culture, art, and above all, music and dancing, simply head for Millennium Park, because there’s always something happening. Even better – it’s for free! There’s always some kind of concert held, and if you’d rather just relax in front of the big screen for the night, don’t go to the cinema. Sit back and watch one of the projections in the nature.
Go To A White Sox game
You can’t really say you’ve been to Chicago if you haven’t watched a baseball game, can you? Even if you’re not a particular fan of the game (but how can you not), you’ll certainly enjoy a White Sox Game. If you’re more interested in the snacks served, you’ll get to know this is also one of the reasons residents and tourists flock to the site. But, seriously, you can’t help but feel the adrenaline pumping when thousands of people around you are getting excited about the next swing.
There you have it. As you can see, Chicago is the place to be, and there’s always something going on. Start checking these off your itinerary, and indulge in all the fun things the city has to offer.
