Kaua‘i, Hawaii is basking in the warm attention that it has received from both Travel + Leisure magazine and a food TV show that is streaming on Max (formerly HBO Max).
Travel + Lesisure has named it the state’s top island in its annual World’s Best Awards, as voted on by readers. And Kaua’i’s Lydgate Farms, pioneers of cacao farming (beans harvested from the cacao tree) is prominently showcased on Max’s “What Am I Eating? With Zooey Deschanel” show.
“We are thrilled to receive this prestigious achievement and screentime on national television. The accolade and recognition highlight why Kaua‘i is a timeless destination for travelers to discover and experience,” said Sue Kanoho, executive director of the Kaua‘i Visitors Bureau. “As holiday travel approaches, Kaua‘i is excited to welcome and showcase the Garden Island and its iconic natural beauty and warm Aloha spirit.”
Kaua‘i has more beach-per-mile than any other Hawaiian island but it known as the Garden Island. That is because it receives more rainfall than the other islands and thus has a lush landscape. That rainfall, by the way, produces a lot of rainbows. Kauai is also known for its many waterfalls including Waipoo Falls tumbling 800 feet into Waimea Canyon, 3,567-foot-deep Waimea Canyon (often called The Grand Canyon of the Pacific) and the towering 3,000-foot sea cliffs of the Nāpali Coast.
Kaua‘i’s abundance of outdoor activities – which includes helicopter and boat tours, kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, mountain tubing, horseback riding, ATV adventures, golf and zip-line tours – help to make it a desirable destination for travelers.
