Las Vegas has seen some busy wedding days in the past, but it is now preparing for perhaps it’s biggest wedding day ever: May 25.
The date is 5/25/25,or 5-2-5-2-5, which reads the same forward and backward.
“Conducting more destination weddings than any other place on the planet, we’ve spent decades tracking trends and anticipating demand,” said Clark County Clerk Lynn Marie Goya. “Thanks to that data, we know palindrome dates such as 5/25/25 are especially meaningful to couples.”
Las Vegas’ most popular wedding date in history occurred on 7/7/2007. It became known as the “Lucky 7s” day when 4,492 couples were married. The second most popular wedding date in Las Vegas history occurred on 11/11/2011 when 3,125 couples were married. Recently, 2/22/22 also became the sixth most popular wedding date in the county’s history with 2,331 weddings.
In addition to 5/25/25, couples have the opportunity to marry on other palindrome dates this month, including Tuesday, May 20 (5-2-0-2-5) through Thursday, May 29 (5-2-9-2-5). Throughout Las Vegas wedding history, unique numerical patterns – often called “magic dates”– have continually proved to be the most popular dates for nuptials.
Las Vegas has actually trademarked the title of Wedding Capital of the World, and for good reason. It has had more than five million weddings (and counting) in his history and has more weddings per 1,000 people than any other place on the planet. It’s also a heck of a place for pre-weddding bachlorette and bachelor parties, as well as post-wedding celebrations.
