Residency At The Strat’s ‘Celestia’ Tent To Start In June
Rocker Sammy Hagar said he will be throwing “the ultimate party” in Las Vegas starting this summer at the Strat, beginning in June.
This raucous celebration will be at the “Celestia” tent, initially as a rehearsal for his summer tour, then becoming a one-weekend-per-month residency.
“I want to create the ultimate environment where I can throw the ultimate party,” he told the Las Vegas Review-Journal, “like I have done in Cabo for 30 years for my birthday, but at another time of year here in Las Vegas, which is really the party capital of the world.
“I hate to put Cabo second to anything, but I feel in this case it’s gotta take second place to Las Vegas.”
In keeping with his “more the merrier” party philosophy, Hagar has sent out open invitations to Rick Springfield, Billy Idol, Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, Neal Schon, Vince Neil and members of REO Speedwagon to join him on stage.
Hagar has a relationship with Golden Entertainment Executive Vice President and COO Steve Arcana, who helped redesign the Strat (formerly the Stratosphere). Hagar already has a presence in Vegas, being owner of the Cabo Wabo bar on the Strip.
