It’s Traverse City Beer Week in this Michigan town and one of the giveaways involves winning a beer-themed that includes a $200 hotel voucher and other beer-related gifts.
More than two-dozen breweries and restaurants are participating in Traverse City Beer Week that runs from Nov. 11-18. The event is a self-guided tour of regional breweries and uses a mobile passport for participants to keep track of participating locations and incentives offered at breweries and restaurants.
With the mobile passport participants can earn a Traverse City Beer Week t-shirt when they visit at least five participating locations. The incentives are redeemed at Traverse City Tourism. Breweries and restaurants offer discounts on beer and food. Plus, visitors staying at select hotels can be in the running to win a beer-themed weekend.

“Traverse City was just ranked as one of the Best Small Town Beer Scenes in the country by USA Today readers,” said Trevor Tkach, President of Traverse City Tourism. “It got that recognition because of the careful craftsmanship from local brewers. They use small batch brewing to create unique beers you won’t find other places. Beer Week is the opportunity to celebrate their creations.”
Tkach encourages participants to drink responsibly and take full advantage of designated drivers, taxis and shared-ride services.
