Jimmy Buffett, Santana, Tom Jones, Ziggy Marley & More On State As The Big Easy Goes Big For 50th Anniversary

If you can’t get no satisfaction out of this lineup of bands, then you should just stay at home and never go to a music festival again.
The 50th annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival features the Rolling Stones. Along with Jimmy Buffett, Santana, Ziggy Marley and other lesser musicians and bands that will fill the air at the New Orleans Fairgrounds during two weekends, April 25-28 and May 2-5.
The Stones are playing an unusual day, a Thursday (May 2) you’ll pay heavy price to see them. IF you can get in, anyway. Ticket prices are $175 and are likely to be sold out by the time I finish typing this article. Normal Jazzfest prices are $75 in advance, $85 at the gate.
Also unprecedented for New Orleans Jazzfest is that when the Rolling Stones start to play, which will be at 5 p.m., music at all other stages will stop.

Other bands that day are Tom Jones, (hey, “Sex Bomb!”), Ziggy Marley, Mavis Staples, Rita Coolidge and some 60 other bands and musicians.
Buffett plays on Sunday the 5th to wrap up Jazzfest.
You can bring beach chairs and empty coolers into the New Orleans Fairgrounds and they give you free ice when you buy beer. Which can be done individually or even by the case.
This is the Stones’ first show in New Orleans in 24 years. They are currently on tour, the worldwide “No Filter” tour.
Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster. Here’s the direct link.
