FinFest, Sunday Concerts & Nightlife In The South Bay Beach Cities
Hermosa Beach is hot this summer.
And I’m not talking about the weather (although it’s been spectacular!).
I’m talking about the events, the bars and the overall atmosphere that’s happening in Hermosa. There’s enough opportunities to meet single people that will have you taking bigger swings than Yasiel Puig is doing for the Dodgers.
It’s been happening all summer, starting with the LA Kings march toward the Stanley Cup Championship and ensuing parade right down The Strand, the Fourth of July with dozen of beachfront house parties, the World Cup viewing parties with a big screen placed right at the pier, the Smackfest beach volleyball costume tournament and continuing free concerts on the sand each Sunday afternoon.
Plus, the Discovery Channel put together a two-day event called FinFest that involves more concerts on the beach (I’ve been convinced, to a degree, that Saturday night’s special guest is Jimmy Buffett) and, come Labor Day Weekend, the Fiesta Hermosa festival of bands and a beer garden.
Plus, there’s the usual Hermosa Beach summer nightlife scene, which is always among the best in L.A.
Now,, with a ratio that favors girls over guys by at least a 60/40 margin it’s more of a field day for gals than guys. But there’s enough to go around and, with all the partying going on here, it’s a gold mine for both sexes.
