Spring Break, St. Patrick’s Day And March Madness Next On The Fun Calendar
Now that Mardi Gras and Fat Tuesday are in the rear-view mirror doesn’t mean we have to pull the mosquito net over the bed and go into party hiding.
There’s too much fun to be had on the horizon. And it will be here before you find the last of those Mardi Gras beads somewhere on the floor of the apartment.
I always believe in looking forward, not backward, and here’s what’s in store for us party people in the coming weeks.
• Spring Break. I’m not in college anymore, but for most students this is even bigger than Carnival. It’s a week when coeds are in bikinis and the guys spend a week trying to get the coeds out of their bikinis. I remember quite a few fun times in Daytona Beach, FL – at the Ocean Deck in particular – and in Spinnaker and an old pirate ship called The Treasure Chest in Panama City, FL. See the link below for a complete list of the best places for Spring Break from PubClub.com.
• St. Patrick’s Day. This is when everyone parties! Heck, they even have a block party in Honolulu! It’s one of my favorite all-time party days. Then again, I used to live in Savannah, Ga., where the entire city shuts down for days. This year, I’m thinking of going to San Diego. There’s a huge party in Balboa Park on the 16th, followed by a block party in the Gaslamp on the 17th. And St. Patrick’s Day is on a Sunday!
• March Madness. This is like The Perfect Storm of parties. At the same time we’re in the bars drinking green beer and trying to get girls to Erin Go Braless, we’ve got one eye rolling around to the TV screens to see how bad our teams are going in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Me, my bracket gets busted on Friday; I’m lucky if I’m still in it after the morning games. It’s March Madness and it keeps us going to the bars when St. Patrick’s Day is just another great green memory.
• Also…This weekend, I’ll be at the Northern Trust Open PGA Tour golf tournament in L.A. The weather is going to be in the 70s and that always brings out the girls. And at the LA Open, very few of the girls are from the South Bay Beach Cities, so it’s like getting a sample platter of the ladies from the rest of the city…I’ll be spending a few days in Carmel and Monterey, CA. That’s where they just held the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. To say it’s absolutely gorgeous! I’ll be staying at a luxury hotel in Carmel and doing a food walk and wine tasting tour as part of a press trip. I’ll then head a few miles up the coast where I’ll spend a couple nights on my friend’s boat in Monterey Bay.
So, while Fat Tuesday will be missed, the good times keep rolling in the party world.
