This is a look back at BlogWorld LA and the New Media Expo, one of the first big conferences for bloggers.

Blog. Blog. Blog.
It’s the theme of BlogWorld L.A, a three-day event taking place Nov. 3-5 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. I was there the first day, which was comprised of keynote speakers and a lineup of seminars that, for this Bar Blogger who writes about bars, picking the ones to attend was like trying to make a choice among 75 beers on tap at a beer bar.
I opted for three, one on social media, a basic guide to using WordPress (that’s what this blog uses; it never hurts to get tips on things) and one on titled “Making Your Blog Stand Out So People Will Eat It Up” by a food blogger.
In short, this is nirvana for bloggers.
I have emerged feeling just a bit smarter and excited about attending more seminars and also roaming through the Expo.
My first impressions of the event are good. At one point, there were 18 presentations occurring simultaneously. Seminars have free Wi-Fi, two rows of tables, even power strips. It’s easy to walk from presentation to presentation and with 15 minutes between presentations timing is not a problem.
There are tables at coffee and water stations, though I’ve always felt a weakness of the LA Convention Center is the fact there are no benches in the hallways.
Oh, and there are parties! Social networking and cocktails. Perfect! I’ll be going to at least two of these on Friday.
