The Perfect Day To Be Wasted Away in Margaritaville! Blended Or On The Rocks? Salt Or No Salt?

Break out the blender.

Put on the signature Jimmy Buffett song.

The only questions for today are: Blended or on the rocks and salt or no salt? Personally, I prefer on the rocks and no salt.

This, above all times, is the day to be wasted away in Margaritaville. Feb. 22 is National Margarita Day, and there’s booze in the blender and soon is should render that concoction – frozen or not – that helps us hang on (or, more appropriately, hang out!).

I happen to love margaritas. The best I’ve ever has is through a recipe from a one-time roommate. It’s as simple as him, but it’s effective. I won’t give it away – it has a key secret ingredient we prefer to remain secret – and it’s helped us both secure many a female when they are given this awesome formula.

This one happens to be made with a blender, and put that with a sunset, and it can be absolutely sinister for a single guy.

Margaritas are great because after a few – or a couple of my famous “woops” margaritas, which happen when an attractive girl distracts me as I’m pouring the tequila into the blender – you tend to do things that you could not conceive of without them in the system.

There’s something about tequila that strips away our inner inhibitions, that makes us suddenly all free of life’s shackles. Or, as Joe Nichols sang, “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off.” Yes, it does, indeed!

That’s why they won’t serve margaritas or tequila on a plane. People get too wild, and you’re in too confined an area to really cut loose.

So here’s a big cheers to tequila and margaritas on National Margarita Day. I’ll be having a few and so, too, should you.
