A Pub Crawl And Games For Teams In Costume To Raise Money For Lyme Disease Victim

There’s a beach party happening in Hermosa Beach, CA, and it’s part pub crawl, part team contest and all fun.
It’s the inaugural Booze-N-Clues Bar & Beach Scavenger Hunt. It takes place on Saturday, Sept 28.
As the name implies, it involves a scavenger hunt. Teams of up to six people search the beach, pier and bars for clues to earn points to win prizes. And, in the tradition of 6/man, Smackfest and many other activities here at the beach, team costumes are encouraged (there’s even a costume contest).
Activities include beach relays, a “cornhole contest (that’s a bean bag toss, not some odd Nebraska activity), a Best Team costume contest and bonus points for surprise tasks.
The bars are Chelsea Pub and Lounge, Hennessey’s, Patrick Molloy’s and Studio. Bud Light is one of the sponsors.
The point of it is not just to have fun – which pretty much seems guaranteed – but to raise money for a local, Renee Avis, who contracted Lyme disease while hiking in the Sierras. The medical costs are high and friends are organizing this fund raiser, but she still has about two years of treatments to go before her condition improves for her to lead a normal life.
I had a member of a family friend get Lyme disease and I can tell you this is no easy ailment to overcome.
