Special Events Make December A Festive Time For Bar Owners

Perhaps they should change – or at least adapt – the lyrics of “Let It Snow” for single adults to this:
“Oh the weather outside is frightful,
“But the bars are so delightful.”
Because the bars are where a lot of single adults spend the Holiday season.
Whether its having a few while shopping, at office parties or having Holiday happy hours with friends, drinks before or after events such as open house strolls or boat parades or bar promotions featuring Naughty Santa contests. it’s boom time for the bars.
And then there are the pub crawls. The themed ones that stream across the country, people dressed in Santa costumes, sexy elves outfits, as reindeer and some hotties who get creative with candy canes.
These are the real special parties. There’s two on successive days in the Los Angeles Beach Cities, the 12 Bars of Christmas in Hermosa Beach with about 75 people – too large for the small bars of the Pier area to handle them all, so savvy “crawlers” leap ahead of the lines – and a massive, 1,000+ pub crawl the next day in Santa Monica.
That one is so huge they have to attack the bars in waves. Participants are assigned bars to attend on a schedule. The downtown streets of Santa Monica turn busy not with shoppers but with partying crawlers.
And this happens all over the country and, I would assume, the world. It’s just part of celebrating the season.
Plus, it’s a good warm up to the real party of the season: New Year’s Eve.
