Marti Gras Parades Through The Soul Of The Party Blogger
There’s a saying in New Orleans. It applies year-round in that party city but it was created because of Mardi Gras: Let The Good Times Roll.
And those good times do indeed roll for Carnival, and not just in New Orleans. There’s Brazil, of course, and even Germany and Switzerland. One of the most fun places is San Diego, which actually has a parade that rolls right through the downtown Gaslamp Quarter.
But it doesn’t really matter where you are, because if you’re out, Fat Tuesday is fun! Everyone is in a great mood and with those masks, it’s a bit like Halloween. People tend to act a bit wilder when they are wearing masks and costumes. Girls in particular.
Me, heck I’m wild all the time! But put beads around my neck and it brings back memories of great times in New Orleans. I love finding a place with a Zydeco band but I may adapt a little bit this year, for the fun and popular Sand Section is playing here locally at Cafe Boogaloo in Hermosa Beach, CA (9 p.m., no cover).
I’ve had some pretty wild times at Boogaloo in the past, when it was a real New Orleans bar. They used to have girls jump on the bar and bare their breasts for beads. And since one of the girls was a very buxom and attractive blonde, I was more than happy to give her all my beads!
So no matter where in the world you are – and I hope you are in one of PubClub.com’s Top Carnival destinations – then get out and let the good times roll. It’s Fat Tuesday. Enjoy it.
