This Is One Of The Biggest Party Months Of The Year
March is one of the top party months of the year.
Just look at all these huge happenings. Why, it’s sheer madness!
It starts with the month-long party that is Spring Break. Beaches across North America fill up with college students who study not books but the bodies of other college students. And the bottom of beer cans.
Halfway into the month it’s the biggest green day of the year, St. Patrick’s Day. In 2018, it’s on a Saturday which means there’s a full weekend of everyone feeling Irish. Bars, parades, more bars, it’s all a part of the great fun of St. Paddy’s Day.
You’ve gotta love it!
Most of the parades – Chicago – for instance – are on the previous Saturday, which is March 12.
And at the same time, it’s also March Madness. That’s a huge time for bars. The NCAA men’s basketball tournament starts March 15 (the Final Four is March 31-April 2) and with no clear-cut #1, this year is going to be as crazy as ever for brackets.
The funny part about this is that by the first Saturday afternoon, I wad up my bracket and toss it on the floor of the bar. Only to pick it up and roll it out after another upset. And we’re already in the bars because of St. Patrick’s Day.
March also has the huge music festival South by Southwest in Austin, TX (March 9-13), Bike Week in Daytona Beach, FL (both 9-18) and of course it’s also the time when every baseball team is a contender with Spring Training.
