It’s National Tequila Day!
Every year on July 24 it’s time to toast the alcohol that makes us do the wildest things. I remember being fueled up on tequila in Baja, Mexico, when a group of us got a sudden inspiration and hopped a fence to raid and party in the jacuzzi of a neighboring condo. We took more tequila with us, of course, and took over the place.
Tequila makes people so wild the airlines won’t serve it on planes. It’s the nectar of the Party Gods. There’s even a song that’s pretty accurate to describe this spirit: “Tequila Makes The Clothes Come Off.”
I’ll drink to that one.
Margaritas, Tequila Sunrise or as a shot, this is one spirit that never fails to raise one’s spirits.
So get out there and have some tequila shots and margaritas to celebrate this most crazy spirit of spirits.

A Brief History Of Tequila
Tequila originated in the 16th century near the town of Tequila in Jalisco, Mexico made from the sap of the blue agave plant . Originally pulque,. the Aztecs felt it was “a gift from the gods.” Eventually the Spanish ontroduced distillation techniques and in 1758, King Carlos IV granted the Cuervo family the first official license to commercially produce what is now known as tequila.
