NYE Party Locations & Tips Around The World
When you go out for New Year’s Eve, you’ve got to have your act together.
You can’t run back to your hotel to get something you forgot – huge momentum breaker, plus you’ll never find your friends – and you can’t arrive too late to a big public party because you’ll be spending the entire time trying to get closer and suddenly it’s midnight and you’ve missed the moment.
So be prepared. Here’s PubClub.com’s tips on our Top 10 NYE Destinations.
1.) New Orleans. You can drink in the streets. In fact, pop-up bars sell drinks on the street. And you can take them to-go from the bars. Another thing to know: New Orleans is especially lively with Alabama and Clemson fans in town for the College Football Playoff game set for New Year’s Night. Link: New Orleans NYE Top Party Tips
2.) Prague. The Czechs love fireworks, so be on the alert for people setting them off all over the place.
3.) Sydney. Get early to Sydney Harbour early; a good place to start is Opera Bar in front of the Sydney Opera House.
4.) Las Vegas. While there are two celebrations, the one on the Strip is bigger and has fireworks. It’s also much more of a party scene. Plus Fremont Street slows down soon after midnight. Link: The Strip vs. Fremont Street.
5.) Rio. It’s summertime in Brazil, which means a true beach attitude is in play. At Copacabana Beach, some 2 1/2 million people gather on the sand and in the streets, which are closed to traffic.
6.) Key West. The Conch Republic is back after Hurricane Irma. There are three drops – one involving a conch, another a wench and one a high heel. Link: Complete Key West NYE Guide.
7.) Berlin. Brandenburg Gate is the place to be for a massive party scene. Technically you can’t have your own drinks; there are stations that sell beers and cocktails. Because the place is so packed – more than a million people – arrive as early as 8 p.m.,
8.) Amsterdam. Wear orange and have a bottle of champagne to drink in the streets.
9.) Foxy’s, Jost Van Dyke, British Virgin Islands. This year’s theme is a toga party. It’s also traditional (for some) to wear a mask as if it’s Mardi Gras. Link: Foxy’s NYE Party Still On After Hurricane Irma.
10.) New York City. Dress warmly, be patient and, like Berlin, arrive early to Times Square. Link: Complete NYC Guide To NYE
