Taking a vacation abroad to celebrate a new year has become a trendy travel phenomenon. Here are a few places that make for an ideal celebration destination.
Sydney, Australia
If you want to be one of the first earthlings to ring in the New Year, you may consider visiting Sydney. Given its location, it is one of the first world cities to celebrate. Celebrate the event on sparkling Sydney Harbour. The water will be filled with party boats making the most of the event as the city gets to enjoy not one but two fireworks displays on New Year’s Eve. A high-profile group event is held at Bondi Beach where everyone is dancing in the streets and on the beach to celebrate the New Year.
Berlin, Germany
With its reputation as being a party city, celebrating New Year’s Eve or “Silvester” as its known here is an experience in Berlin. Known for a two kilometre stretch of celebration including bars, food trucks, laser shows, musical performances and video screens, Berlin has a lot going on as it sees in the New Year. The evening is crowned by a fireworks show at midnight with dancing all night long.
Las Vegas, Nevada , USA
One of the world’s top gambling capitals is an exciting place to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Part of the Vegas Strip is closed to traffic and opens up to a big street party that sees over 300,000 partygoers every year. All over the city are various events including concerts, parties and shows. With so many casinos in Vegas, many also enjoy celebrating at these venues, you can even play along online via your mobile while you’re there. Like the other two cities mentioned, there is also a massive fireworks show here as it is launched off seven different rooftops along the Strip.
