What’s Happening & Events In Hermosa, Manhattan & Redondo Beach

Welcome To The PubClub.com South Bay Party Report!
The Party Report is brought to you by Kona Brewing Company, a few of which sound pretty good right now because of this awesome summer-like beach weather we’re having this week!
CUBS WIN THE WORLD SERIES!
Where were you the last time the Cubs won the World Series? Most likely, not even a twinkle in your great-grandparents’ eyes. Well, some South Bay PubClubbers were in Cleveland for it and kindly sent along photos and some emotions from this event many Chicagoans thought they would never experience in their lifetime.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME IS THIS WEEKEND
It’s Daylight Savings Time this weekend; to be precise it happens on Saturday nite/Sunday morning at 2 a.,m. Remember it’s Spring forward and Fall back, so we gain an hour. I always thought that meant we could get an extra hour in the bars, but it never seems to work out that way, unfortunately.
Otherwise, it’s a pretty light weekend. The next big local event is the Holiday Open House in Manhattan Beach, which is Wednesday, Nov, 16. And it’s half-priced Navy Grogs all November at Rock ‘n Fish.
Of course, the election is Tuesday and somehow I have a feeling it’s going to be one of the busiest Taco Tuesdays of the year with all the people going into the bars afterward seeking drinks. Among the bars where you can find Kona beers do drink on Election Day (and anytime for that matter) are Shellback Tavern, American Junkie, Shade Hotel (MB and RB) and Waterman’s Safe House.
• THURSDAY IN THE SOUTH BAY
The 310YP First Thursday mixer for November is at Patrick Molloy’s. This is a good location for it and as I’ve mentioned in the past, these are exellent events not just for networking but also for doing some of that prime South Bay singles mingling.
It starts at 6, Happy Hour goes until 7 and it’s free. 310YP prefers you register in advance so they have an idea who is attending and you can do so here:

• FRIDAY & SATURDAY: BREEDER’S CUP
If you feel like getting out of the South Bay and doing something fun and different, then head to Santa Anita Racetrack, as this weekend is the running of the high-dollar Breeder’s Cup. Admission Friday is $10 on-line, $15 on the gate and on Saturday jumps to $25/40. The website is:

• SATURDAY – BARLEY BAND AT THE LIGHTHOUSE
See the band that played the huge music festival KAABOO, right here in Hermosa, for its regular first-Saturday-of-the-month performance at The Lighthouse, 4 p.m.
• SUNDAY IN THE SOUTH BAY: NFL GAMES
Here’s where to watch games if you’re a fan of certain teams. Or if not, just bounce around from bar to bar. For walking and convenience sake, the ones listed here are on and around Hermosa’s Pier Plaza. Bears: Silvio’s. Cowboys: Molloy’s. Eagles: Chelsea Lounge. Packers: The Underground Patriots: The Deck. Seahawks: Hennessey’s. Steelers: Mickey McCoulgan’s. All teams: Sharkeez & Molloys.
• HALLOWEEN PARTY RECAP
I want to tip my hat to Berry Bly for putting together his Halloween party at the Portifino hotel on Friday nite. It was outstanding! He’ll be having a party for New Year’s Eve, too, so stay tuned for deets on it!
COMING UP IN THE NEXT PARTY REPORT
Next week’s Party Report will be all about the holidays – the dates of the key fun events here in the South Bay, including the Manhattan Beach Fireworks and the 12 Bars of Christmas.
That’s it for this week’s edition of the South Bay Party Report. For this and more, go to PubClub.com, Where The South Bay – And Beyond! – Goes To Party.
Cheers!
