Survive & Thrive The Day After The NFL’s Biggest Game
One of the biggest party days of the year often leads to one of the worst morning-after days of the year.
Having a hangover is never fun and after a full day of being at bars or parties for Super Bowl Sunday, Monday can seem like a very long day.
But it does not have to be that way if you follow PubClub.com’s top party survival tips. These will help you avoid that nasty hangover. And if for some reason you don’t follow this advance, we also have a few hangover remedies to help you survive the next day.
Six Steps To Hangover Prevention
1.) Eat Before Drinking. This is the most critical tip. If you’re at a party, go for the first for the food, then the booze. Get a good base for drinking. As the day progresses, you’re only going to be eating potato chips and such, so be sure you start out with something hearty. If you’re not sure what kind of food the host is having then eat before you arrive to the party. If you’re a bar, order food as soon as you take a seat.
The best way to last a long time drinking is to eat a good, filling meal before you start partying.
2.) Ease Into Your Drinking Pace. Sip your first couple of beers or cocktails. If you are pounding from the start, you’re going to get drunk really fast. Build up to your drinking peak.
3.) Pick Your Spots For When To Do Shots. Careful, this is the fastest way to put yourself on the way to a hangover. It’s like a long touchdown pass – it will get you there in a hurry. It’s better to treat shots as a long, time-sustaining drive.
4.) Mix In Water With Your Alcohol. While this is far easier said than done because once you get drinking momentum, you don’t want to let it go, but it’s critical to avoiding a hangover. When you first feel yourself getting a buzz, then down at least two glasses of water. Later, when you are buzzed, have two more glasses. And before going to bed, drink more water.
5.) Avoid Drinking Games. Things like Flip Cup are fun and social, but they will also set you on your way to getting hammered, and that’s how you get a hangover. If you do play, then don’t make it all afternoon; just a few games should be sufficient to satisfy your thirst for this type of activity.
6.) Treat The Day As A Marathon, Not A Sprint. It’s a long day. Pace yourself.
The Day After Hangover Cures
Okay, do you didn’t follow the above rules and you’re in bed, under the covers and don’t want to even think about moving for the next several hours. You feel like crap.
So what do you do to perk up a bit? Here’s a few simple suggestions:
1.) Eat Bananas. Yes, bananas. The potassium in them is good for hangovers. It may take 2-3 but you’ll be amazed at how much better you feel after about half an hour.
2.) Drink Water. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. You can’t get enough of this, so drink water. Sodas are not good, tho they can settle a stomach that’s jumping around like a loose football. Coffee? Hey it worse for some people.
3.) Eat. Either stuff yourself or get some food in your stomach, however much you can, well, stomach. Potatoes are particularly good for hangovers.
4.) Rest. Yes, you can sleep off a hangover. Just don’t do it while at work.

Love these suggestions. Thankfully I do not need them today. Heck, I usually eat a banana and drink tons of water every day. Maybe I will have to test these cures. Or not. Love it!

I am surprised you didn’t mention and over-the-counter hangover cures. I’m not sure how well any of them work, so it’s probably best to stick with tried-and-true methods like yours.
