College Tailgate Party Rolls With Transportation From the South Bay
College football season is here and that means tailgate parties!
One of the season’s first big games is in the historic Rose Bowl as Nebraska visits UCLA.
But as anyone not from Pasadena will tell you, it’s a long way to the Rose Bowl from other parts of L.A. And that’s why the South Bay Beach Cities people, the ones who REALLY know how to party, are taking a party bus to the game.
After all, there’s going big before you go home, and there’s no drinking and driving.
The bus will roll from the Hermosa Beach Pier at noon (kickoff is at 4:30, PT). That will put it at the Rose Bowl about 1:30, And it cost just $25 for girls ($30 for guys)! Reserve your seat in advance to super-charged UCLA alumni Dave Munoz. You may contact him here: [email protected].
Keep in mind that, despite the fact that on paper UCLA should get smashed, the Bruins always get up for these big non-conference games.
If you’ve never tailgated at the Rose Bowl here’s your party tips:
• Bring a styrofoam (disposable) cooler for your tailgate beverages
• The party place is “the backstop,” which is the actual backstop of a softball field on the end of the stadium with the famous Rose Bowl logo
• There are bathrooms at the backstop
• Be aware that many people – especially in this party bus group – will show up without tickets. They will continue to party at the backstop until their adult beverages are expired. Then they will consider going into the game if they have found tickets. This will occur at halftime.
• Those who go into the stadium will head directly to the south end zone concourse to socialize at halftime. They will eventually find a seat around the start of the 4th quarter. Unless the Bruins are getting hammered, in which case they will do the same.
• Don’t miss the bus because it’s a long way back to Hermosa Beach!
