5 Tips For Finding A One-Night Romance
Valentine’s Day can be one of the best pick-up nights of the year for single guys. And, for girls, too, who are looking for a little love without the romance.
That’s because people are alone on the night when others – including some close friends – are having romantic dinners, romantic moments or even quick trips to some romantic destination.
Bars provide a nice refuge for those without a partner to drown a few sorrows or to proudly proclaim “hey I’m SINGLE!”
With that in mind, PubClub.com has put together this list of the best ways to pick up girls on this night. For you girls, picking up guys is easy, and it doesn’t have to be Valentine’s Day, for you to succeed, either.
1.) Identify The Girls Who Have Recently Broken Up With A Boyfriend
One of the keys to scoring on Valentine’s Day is to identify a girl who has just broken up with her boyfriend. This is fairly easy; just look for the girls with short hair. Particularly if you’ve seen that girl before and just recently she had long hair.
For some reason, girls always seem to cut their hair after breaking up with a guy. Even if they had long, flowing beautiful hair before, they chop it off, usually really short, off the shoulders. This will be a fresh cut, within the last week or two and is not a style for her. So don’t think every girl with short hair is an easy target on this night.
2.) Don’t Use Pickup Lines
Prepared pickup lines are among the worst ways to try and pick up a girl. (Probably the worst way is to be a stumbling, slurring drunk but that’s a blog post for another time).
Instead, take advantage of the shared situation, the fact you are in the same place at the same time and on Valentine’s Day. After all, you’ve got something in common because you are both there; find out what else you have in common.
3.) Be The LIfe Of The Bar
If it’s just you and a buddy or two, laugh it up and act like you’re having the time of your lives. If you’ve got a bigger group, then be the most fun group in the bar. Participate in all the silly Valentine’s Day games the bar has going on that night and anything else fun happening in which you can participate.
Girls like guys who are confident, who are fun and who draw the attention of the rest of the bar because they are having fun. This being said, guys who are just loud and obnoxious are a turnoff for girls. As well as everyone else.
4.) Go For Girls In Groups Of Four Or Less
You’re best off in a two-on-two situation but you (and a buddy) can still succeed as long as you don’t try and attack groups of more than four girls.
That’s because girls tend to form a protective circle around each other and the bigger the group the tougher it is to penetrate that circle. The larger groups also means it increases the possibility that at least one girl is going to be your deal-breaker for the night “protecting” the other girls from you and/or your friend(s).
5.) Isolate Your ‘Target Girl’ From Her Group
If you spot a girl in a small group you would really like to meet, don’t go up to her when all the other girls are with her. Wait for the others to go to the restroom or they leave the table or area for some other reason (say, to put a selfie on Facebook if they can’t get a good phone signal in the bar), then move in and introduce yourself.
Make your case quickly – if you’re really good, go for getting her number so you can privately text her later – and depart before the other girls return. Because if her girlfriends come back and see you hitting on their friend, they are going to shoo you away, then spend the next half hour telling their friend why she shouldn’t talk with you.
