Copenhagen Brewery Turns Urine From Music Festivals Into ‘Pisner’ Brew

You’re heard of beer that tastes like piss? Well now there is a beer that is like piss.
In fact, it IS piss!
Norrebro Bryghus, an Organic craft beer brewery located in Copenhagen, Denmark, has created “Pisner,” a beer that is – seriously – crafted from urine collected at music festivals. The company calls this “beercycling” but I call it great PR, because it got listed under “Moments” on Twitter.
Now, if you’re a true beer lover this may “piss” you off but hold on, lets give the brewmaster credit for creativity. I’ll give them a “cheers” for that – but I’ll be drinking another beer when I do it.
The mere thought of it gives me the shivers. For starters, where exactly did they go to collect the urine? When I think of peeing at music festivals, picture the Por-O-Lets, which are gross to begin with, plus they has all sorts of things in there besides urine. No filtration system in the world can clean out all that stuff.
Then there’s the matter of the people who deposited the urine. You’ve seen some people at music festivals; you don’t want to talk to them let alone drink their urine. The mere thought makes me want to run to the toilet to do something other than take a leak.
Although, it’s easy to admit the concept is pretty amusing; after all, when you’re at a big beer-drinking event like a music festival you joke that you’re only “renting the beer.” Now you’re not just renting it you’re re-entering it into your system!
I’ll never try it, but just the same, if I do ever go into that brewery in Copenhagen, I will be watching VERY carefully what the bartender pours out of the tap or checking and re-checking the label on the bottled beer.
After all, I don’t want to be urinating someone else’s urine later in the toilet.

Ha, yeah. But when I’m at your place I’ll stick with the rum!

Now I know what to do with my pee after a long night of beer drinking. I’m saving it for my home brew.
