White Buffalo Beer Wins Gold Gold Medal At LA International Beer Competition

Its the Great White Buffalo, and it won a Gold Medal at the Los Angeles International Beer Competition. Brewer Justin Rivard’s brew was recognized as the best American-Belgo-Style Ale.
The annual competition, which draws both local and international brewery contestants, produced 43 awards for Los Angeles Brewers Guild brewers spread among 22 individual Guild breweries.
“I set out to brew a Belgian Pale because it’s a challenging style that requires perfect balance, and the yeast and hops can easily be at odds,” Rivard said. “It was a team effort, and we are all really excited about this prestigious award and the recognition of Peter B’s in the industry.
“This is the second year we’ve brewed this Belgian, and I think it’s the best batch yet.”
Peter B’s, located behind the Portola Hotel & Spa. has won several awards through the years for its beers. That’s one reason it’s a popular hangout for locals and a destination for tourists.
The food is also very good with a menu that’s always changing. For many reasons, Peter B’s is a PubClub.com favorite watering hole whenever we are in Monterey.
It’s a good place to quite literally “tap” into the award-winning tastes of Montery Bay.
