National Margarita Day Cocktail Recipes With 1800 Silver Tequila

National Margarita Day is Feb. 22 each year and while there is certainly nothing wrong with running out to the local cantina and having lots of the standard margaritas – salt or no salt!? – maybe you should try something different this year.

Here are several margarita recipes that will add an extra element to your National Margarita Day. Of course, for real enjoyment, don’t just limit them to Feb. 22. Feel free to enjoy them any other day of the year.

They are made with high-quality 1800 Silver tequila.

1800 Cranberry Margarita

Cranberry Margarita Margarita 1800 tequila
The Cranberry Margarita is a unique twist to a tequila classic.

• 2 oz. 1800 Silver
• 1 oz. frozen cranberries, thawed
• 1 oz. rosemary simple syrup
• 1 oz. lime juice

Directions: Add 1800 Silver and thawed cranberries into a shaker. Muddle the cranberries until the tequila is pink. Add the simple syrup and lime juice to the shaker, then top with ice. Stir until cold, then strain into glasses rim with salt. Add additional frozen cranberries and rosemary as garnish.

1800 Summerita

Summerito margarita 1800 Silver tequila
The Summerito adds watermelon juice and champagne to the classic margarita recipe.

• 2 oz. 1800 Silver
• 1 oz. watermelon juice
• ½ oz. lime juice
• ¼ oz. agave syrup
• Pinch of cilantro
• Champagne, to top

Directions: Add all ingredients but champagne to shaker. Shake hard for 15 seconds. Double strain into flute. Top with champagne

1800 Classic Margarita 

Classic margarita on the rocks with salt and lime
This is the 1800 Silver tequila classic margarita on the rocks, with salt and a lime.

• 2 oz. 1800 Silver
• 1 oz. lime juice
• ½ oz. agave syrup
• ½ oz. fresh-squeezed orange juice

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a shaker, shake and strain into salted rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.

1800 Magenta Margarita
INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 ½ oz. 1800 Cristalino ($70)
  • 1 oz. prickly pear purée
  • ½ oz. lime juice
  • ½ oz. simple syrup
  • Garnish: Fresh Lime Wheels
Directions: Combine 1800 Blanco, prickly pear purée, lime juice and simple syrup in mixing tin. Add ice and shake vigorously. Strain over fresh ice in a salt-rimmed rocks glass. Garnish with fresh lime wheels.
1800 Ruby Red
INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 ½ oz. 1800 Blanco ($29)
  • ½ oz. triple sec
  • 1 oz. grapefruit juice
  • ½ oz. lemon juice
  • ½ oz. vanilla syrup
  • 2 dashes rose water
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a salt rim and dried rose petals.
1800 Sage Margarita
INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 oz. 1800 Cristalino ($70)
  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz. triple sec
  • 3 fresh sage leaves
Directions: Muddle sage leaves in triple sec in a cocktail shaker. Add tequila, lime juice, and ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled margarita glass with a salted rim and garnish with a sage leaf and lime wheel.
1800 Cucumber Margarita
INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 ½ oz. 1800 Blanco ($29)
  • ¾ oz. triple sec
  • ½ oz. cucumber juice
  • ¾ oz. lime juice
  • Pinch of salt (added into shaker)
Directions:  Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice and garnish with a cucumber ribbon on a pick.
1800 Monochrome Margarita
INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 ½ oz. 1800 Cristalino ($70)
  • ½ oz. Agavero Orange
  • ½ oz. light agave syrup
  • 1 oz. Supasawa
  • 1 sleeve Bittermen’s Hellfire Bitters
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and stir. Strain into a margarita glass over fresh ice and garnish with a lime wheel and Thai chili.
