Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club on Cape Cod and the Aruba Marriott Resort have combined socializing and exercising by creating Pickleball cocktails.
Taking advantage of the pickleball craze – this grassroots sport has cities and resorts turning tennis courts into pickleball courts and tournaments are on ESPN – these two properties have created the equivalent of golf’s 19th hole.
At the Ocean Edge, the property has launched a pickleball pop-up that offers pickle-themed cocktails and snacks for guests post-play.
There’s a ‘Two Bounce Rule’ cocktail with bourbon, maple syrup, lime juice and orange juice (darker drink) and a ‘Baseline’ drink with tequila, triple sec, pickle juice, lime juice, and simple syrup (lighter drink). Snacks include pickled carrots, peppers, cauliflower and radishes, hummus, and pickle-flavored chips. This runs every Monday and Wednesday from 4-5pm (through Labor Day).
At Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino the lobby bar has specialty pickleball cocktails. There is the Dirty Pickle made with Grey Goose, pickle brine, and a pickle garnish served in a fancy martini glass. Or, try the Backspin Shot made with Jameson and pickle juice. At Aruba Marriott Resort, pickleball equipment and play are complimentary for guests.
