Valentine’s Day is not just a time for champagne and fine wine. It can also be a fine time to enjoy romantic cocktails.
Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey knows this and has created three Valentine’s Day cocktails. The feature the Original and BluePeak whiskeys. Here are the recipes.
The retail price of a bottle of Original is $60 and Blue Peak is $50.
- 1.5 oz Stranahan’s Original
- .75 oz sweet Vermouth
- .75 oz Italian bitter (Campari)
- 2 dashes chocolate bitters
Instructions: Combine Stranahan’s Original, sweet Vermouth, Italian bitter and stir. Pour into coupe glass and garnish with brandied cherry.
- 2 oz Stranahan’s Original
- 1 brown sugar cube
- 2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
- Pinch grated cinnamon
Instructions: Muddle sugar cube, cinnamon and Angostura Bitters in base of shaker. Add Stranahan’s Original and shake with ice. Fine strain into ice-filled rocks glass and garnish with orange twist and cinnamon stick.
- 2 oz Stranahan’s Blue Peak
- .75 oz fresh lemon juice
- .75 oz fresh orange juice
- 1 Egg white
- .5 oz pomegranate Grenadine
Instructions: Combine Stranahan’s Blue Peak, fresh lemon juice, orange juice, egg white, and pomegranate Grenadine in a shaker and shake. Pour into coupe glass and garnish with an orange twist.
