Dawn’s Dream Collecting Items To Help Victims In Santa Rosa
Carmel winery Dawn’s Dream is raising a hand – and you can raise a glass – to help victims of the California wine country fires that have destroyed part of Napa Valley, Somoma County and the town of Santa Rosa.
It is offering a free wine tasting at its Carmel tasting room in exchange of donations that will be distributed to victims. Specifically, it is asking for water, blankets, diapers, baby food, toilet paper and pet food and items.
All donations taken to the tasting room will result in a complimentary wine tasting.
Donations are being accepted thru Sunday, Oct. 15. On Monday the 16th, Dawn’s Dream staff will deliver the items to the Santa Rosa collection center in the Veterans Memorial Building.
Dawn’s Dream is one of the wineries on the Carmel Wine Walk, a self-guided walking tour with a passport you purchase that includes the many wine tasting rooms in Carmel-By-The-Sea in Monterey County, CA.
Its signature attraction is a gold bathtub in the tasting room in which people sit in and take selfies.
The wildfires have destroyed at least a dozen wineries north of Carmel reducing them, houses, businesses and entire neighborhoods to ashes. Napa Valley is advising visitors not to visit for a while and the overall damage to the properties, wineries and the people will not be known for a while.
For the moment, having others such as Dawn’s Dream collect donations is an important step in helping the affected people get through the immediate situation.
And you can help and enjoy some good wines at what is one of the liveliest wine tasting rooms in Monterey County.
Location: Dawn’s Dream is located at the NW corner of San Carlos & 7th Street, behind Tinker Toys, in Carmel-By-The-Sea. There are no street addresses in Carmel.
