The Blogger’s Australian Adventure Continues In Queensland
There’s a river cutting through town with scenic pedestrian bridges and bars lined up along its banks.
An eclectic community that has pubs and a few nightclubs that are all but hidden in the daylight but you just know come alive at night.
And a downtown area that’s ripe to explore.
So to say that Brisbane looks promising as a party city is to say there are kangaroos in Australia. It’s river area looks particularly enticing.
Fortunately, I have some local mates who are going to show me the city, and I can’t wait to see it. This is Phase IV of my Australian adventure. It started in Sydney, moved on quickly to Surfer’s Paradise – where I worked with Procon Leisure on the Miss V8 Supercars pageant – and two relatively mellow but very entertaining days in Byron Bay.
Now it’s Brisbane and my Aussie adventure will conclude with a whopping 10 days in Sydney, which will also include its beach cities of Bondi Beach, Manley Beach and Cronulla.
Perhaps by the end of things, I’ll be able to point out a particular highlight but for now, I’m just enjoying things as they come along to me.
“Brizzy” is certainly off to a good start. My local mate took me to something called the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, where I not only saw koala bears but also fed kangaroos right out of my hand.
But what made me really feel like I was in Australia was that the place sold XXXX beer. Now THAT’S Australian!
