Did LA’s Mayor Really Party With Charlie Sheen In Cabo San Lucas?

If Antonio Villaraigosa Can ‘Party With The Best Of ‘Em,’ Well, Let’s Party!

Perhaps  I misjudged Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

I always looked at him as being a typically poisoned politician, to be trusted only as far as as I can toss a beer bottle.

Well, I still feel that way but if what Charlie Sheen says is true, I would like to be close enough to the mayor to toss him a beer.

Sheen says that he partied with Villaraigosa for about two hours in his hotel in Cabo San Lucas.  “He’s a terrific guy, a great mayor and he can drink with the best of ’em,'” Sheen reportedly told TMZ.

That’s not hard to believe.  But Villaraigosa will hardly have you believe it.

“I had a three-minute conversation and took a picture with him, that simple…. I take a picture virtually every single day, 50 times,” Villaraigosa told KNBC TV-4 in L.A.

Now here’s my opinion: If I’m to believe Sheen or Villaraigosa, I would choose Sheen. First, Villaraigosa is a politician. And a good one at that, and that means lying – or at the very least creatively covering up hanky-panky behavior – is part of the job description. Second, Villaraigosa had an affair with a Telemundo reporter. While married. That’s not exactly the behavior of a trustworthy individual.

He also refused to answer any follow-up questions about the alleged Sheen party while walking with media on his way to a press conference for a new Los Angeles museum. This, too, makes him guilty in my mind. Why just not come out and say again it was a three-minute conversation rather than sticking with the tired old “original statement” line? Why? Because he’s guilty!

Can you imagine the party in that hotel room with Sheen and Villaraigosa, both great ladies men? The women must have been unbelievable. I’m jealous!

Maybe we should take the mayor at his word, that he just posed for a photo with Sheen. And Sheen’s follow-up statement – through his publicist, by the way – that the mayor was kind enough to pose for the pic.

But I wasn’t born yesterday and the mayor’s previous behavior leads me to believe that he indeed did party with Sheen. I’m okay with that, and in fact want to invite the mayor to do the same with me on my deck in Manhattan Beach!
