Beautiful Babes Largely Missing During Trip Down Under
Where are the girls!?
The hot Aussie girls!?
One of the reasons I’ve wanted to come to Australia for years has been the women. I’ve imagined them to be everywhere and heard they love Americans.
But with a couple of notable exceptions – when the deck was stacked in my favor as I was working with the Miss V8 Supercars girls at the Surfer’s Paradise race and then hung out with a nice-looking female mate in “Brizzy” – a month Down Under has produced little in the search for sexy sheilas.
Perhaps my expectations where out of whack. Based on the Aussies I have met who have been to America, I was thinking Australia it would be like my first few trips to Toronto, Canada, where great-looking girls seemed to be everywhere. They were walking down the streets, they were in the bars, they were the hostesses, the waitresses and the bartenders.
Heck, they were even the news reporters and the camera girls with the news reporters.
I expected it to be much the same in Australia.
But wherever I went, there were precious few hot Aussie girls. The hottest bartender I’ve seen works at the pub below the hotel I stayed at in Sydney, the Australian Pub. She’s a tall, beautiful blonde. And she’s from Finland!
There IS another nice-looking blonde bartender at The Australian Pub and, for those keeping count, a naturally attractive brunette at the Lord Nelson and a fine-looking lively blonde at the inside bar of The Argile, all in The Rocks. And that’s about all I’ve seen folks! From a server standpoint anyway.
For finding patrons, the best place by far is the Opera Bar by the Opera House; there, I’ve spotted and talked with a few nice-looking gals.
One one of my last days, I went for a walkabout around downtown Sydney as the office workers were emerging from their buildings. I figured this would be a great time to see some business beauties.
I even had a good meeting line to talk to them; I was looking for a bottle shop to buy a bottle of wine (in Australia, you have to go to a designated store to buy booze and as I discovered they are not exactly on every streetcorner in Sydney), and figured I would pick out the babe of my choice and ask her for assistance. Perhaps she would even join me.
And here’s the thing: In more than an hour I did not see one girl worth approaching. This seemed to me to be impossible. Sure, this is the financial area – a fashion area, or a place with advertising and PR agencies would most certainly have produced different results – but surely I would see a few hotties walking around downtown.
Perhaps the best-looking Australian girls are not in Sydney. Or in Surfer’s Paradise or Brisbane, three of the four areas I visited. Or I’ve simply not gone to the right places in those areas.
Before I came here – again based on the Aussie girls I’ve met in America – I expected them to all look like Lisa Gleave. Or a reasonable facsimile. Lisa is a former Miss Indy who now lives in Los Angles. She was on “Deal Or No Deal” and is the blonde on the game show’s slot machine in Vegas. She’s tall, thin, gorgeous, has sparkling blue eyes and that awesome Aussie accent.
In other words, Lisa is the protoype Aussie girl in the minds of American men.
But other than the Miss V8 Supercars girls, I’ve seen very few Lisa Gleaves in Australia. Not even the beaches have produced a bevy of babes.
The most good-looking girls I’ve seen were in Byron Bay. And those were travelers, college-aged backpackers from around the world. Or, they were the girls who worked at the hostel/hotel, Nomad’s. That place is babe heaven!
Still, the lack of “ordinary” girls, ones you see about town and working in retail stores, bars and restaurants and simply walking down the street proved to be my biggest disappointment Down Under. Guess I’ll just have to come back and check out other places.
Turn over a few rocks.
I know they are here somewhere!
Cheers!
