The Nightlife Blogger: My Cure For The Common Winter Cold Is Jacuzzi And Tequila Shots!

Bubbles And Booze Chases Away Sickness Blues

Tequila shots will make you feel better and help chase away colds.

It’s winter here in the Northern Hemisphere and for many that means we’re fighting off colds with the hope we don’t catch the flu.

Many of us want to still maintain our fun and active lifestyle – and the Ski Resorts are always tempting us – but those darn coughs and sniffles are stifling our senses.

But I have a solution. It’s one I use often and it works.

My cure to the common cold is simple: A Jacuzzi and tequila shots.

The Jacuzzi works. It artificially raises the body’s temperature, which is what a fever does naturally to fight off sickness. Stay in the Jacuzzi as long as you can stand it. This is a proven medical fact. Just ask any doctor (at a cocktail party; after following this advice you won’t have to go to his or her office).

The tequila shots are bit less scientific, but they work just the same.

Strong, direct liquor can actually deaden the germs, and sometimes even send them packing. How often have you gone out despite not feeling well, then really tie one on, only to wake up the next day and have the cold all but disappear? It’s happened to me quite a bit (and fairly recently, too, as I was celebrating Alabama’s romp over Notre Dame to win the BCS National Championship).

You can’t do just shots, you need something forceful. Just see how many cough medicines contain bourbon.

Tequila is great because it really slugs those cold germs. It’s almost as if the germs are scared of the tequila and say, “heck, if he/she is putting THIS into the body, we’re getting the heck out of here!”

And don’t stop at one shot. Have several, at least three to four. Rinse and repeat for a few days until cured.

To be fair, while the Jacuzzi is a proven method for helping to cure a cold, the tequila does not work every time. But after a few shots, you’re feeling so good, who cares, right!?
