MrGamez Website Uses History & Profiles To Predict The Academy Awards

If you’re at a house party or in a fun bar for Oscars 2017 on Sunday, Feb. 26, chances are there’s a pool in which you are asked to pick the winners.
Of course, this is akin to filling out a bracket for March Madness but a website, MrGamez.com, has a way to increase your chances of winning. MrGamez have used the last 20 years of Oscar winners to build profiles of the ideal candidates in each category.
See if you agree with its predictions!
The website looks at Best Actor, Actress, Picture, Supporting Actor, Actress, and Director to offer the most likely options for each category. The winners of each award since 1995 have been analyzed in detail to reveal common characteristics, producing an “Oscar profile”, to predict the 2017 winners.
It compares the profile for each nominee to see how it most resembles past winners to see how close the two are, as well as some interesting details on the people and films poised to claim the award.
Familiar Features
There are even some common features across the different profiles – the most likely winners are all from the United States, and the most common genre to propel a person or picture to victory is drama.
The profile for successful supporting actors and actresses predicts winners with no previous Oscar nominations, while leads were more likely to have one under their belt already – and the winning director is most likely to have two.
With all that in mind, here’s its predictions in the top categories.
