The world has slowed down since the recent pandemic. Bars and clubs are barely reopening. As we reopen, it’s important to make things as efficient as possible to cut down on costs and increase sales. Here are some ways that pubs and clubs can streamline operations during the pandemic.
1. Updated Point-of-Sale System
You need an effective POS system that allows servers, bartenders, and cooks to communicate efficiently to best help the customer. The POS system should make the table number of the guest clear so that everyone knows who the order goes to. The POS system should also help keep orders organized, especially if you need to print separate checks for a table. There should also be enough stations so that servers will have to wait to put their orders in.
2. Installing Digital Signage
Many companies are installing digital signage instead of traditional signs. The digital signage retail businesses use can also be used by pubs and clubs. One distinct advantage is that digital signage just looks cool. Also, you can change it as you choose. You can put up new drink specials as you switch them up and also promote upcoming events. You won’t need to constantly put up new signs for every new promotion or event, saving you money. Plus, digital signs just look cool.
3. Creating an App
People don’t like waiting at the bar for their drinks. Make it easier by creating an app that will let customers order drinks from their table. The app will let them know when the drink order is up, allowing them to get it right when it’s ready. This will help reduce traffic at the crowded bar. It will also give bartenders a little more time to make drinks. Plus, people won’t be frustrated they have to wait.
4. Inventory Management
You need to be aware of your inventory at all times to help ensure you have everything you need in stock. It can be a disappointment when a customer comes in and can’t order what they want. One way to manage inventory is to use an inventory management program. It will track all sales and orders so you know what you have and what you should have. Many of the inventory management tools will also allow you to determine if bartenders are overpouring, which can get your organization in trouble.
5. Adjusting Bar Layout
Look at the layout of your bar. Think of ways you might be able to organize things in a more efficient way. Is there a way to make more space at the bar? Is there a way to make it easier for customers to get up to the bar and servers to reach the different tables? A little rearranging can go a long way. Plus, you can make things look better.
Pubs and clubs are opening up again. Before you do, you should do everything to keep day to day processes running smoothly. These are just some of the things you can do to help ensure success. We all need all the help we can get after the recent lockdown.
