Las Vegas vs. Macau: Which Is The Best Casino Paradise For You

July 28, 2020 by kevinwilkerson Leave a Comment

In the past, Las Vegas would be the city that comes to your mind whenever you think of a gambling paradise in the world. But that may no longer be the case because a very powerful competition has arrived, and it’s working hard to take the position of the best gambling center in the world.

Another alternative to the bustling gambling meccas of the world is to play at casinos online. With new titles being produced constantly, the newest slot sites are always worth giving a try and it could save you from needing to pack your bags and embarking on an expensive trip across the globe or country.

In terms of the amount wagered, Vegas has been overtaken by the Chinese center for gambling named Macau. But we are looking at the veracity of the claim by some people that this place has truly taken the places of Las Vegas in the casino gambling world. Going by what most of the casino sites are saying, there seems to be a sort of agreement among them that Macau has snatched the position of the gambling hub of the universe from Vegas, in a tide turning move.

Facilities and Services Offered

Macau is smaller than Las Vegas when you consider the land area. In fact, Vegas is three times bigger than Macau, but yet Macau receives up to 30 million visitors each year, with more than two third of them coming in from mainland china. When you sum it up, you will have more than 20 million of those making huge monetary commitments to the gaming industry of Macau. But a look at the state of Nevada in the United States where Las Vegas is located reveals that they entertain up to 42 million visitors each year.

When you come into a new city, you will most probably stay in a hotel for the first nights. We have discovered that most people that come to Las Vegas stay in holes for at least 2 to 3 days, but the data of visitors that come to the city of Macau, reveals that only half of them pass the night in the city

Because of this number, there are more than 75 hotels in the city, and they harbor about 30,000 guest rooms. You cannot compare this with what obtains in Las Vegas. The city has up to 17,000 hotels, with more than 150,000 hotel rooms, making it the city with a higher accommodation potential among the two. However, in Macau, lodgers will most likely pay 8.8% more than they will in Las Vegas.

When you also consider the restaurants, you will discover that the prices of food and drinks in Las Vegas is 34.17% higher than what it is in Macau, making the average cost of living in Las Vegas more than double per person of what you have in Macau.

Gaming Establishments

When it comes to the casinos proper, you will get more than a double of what you have in Macau in Las Vegas. There are just 49 casinos in Macau, while Las Vegas has up to 140. But this does not prevent the Chinese city from gaining more than three times the gambling income that Vegas attracts. However, the Macau casinos when checked on their individual sizes are mostly double the sizes of the casinos in Vegas, with Macau having two of the largest casinos in the entire world, namely the Wynn Macau and the Venetian Macau.

Entertainment

However, you won’t enjoy the type of electrifying atmosphere you have in Vegas in Macau. When you look at gambling in the two cities, while that of Vegas is more fun filled, what happens in Macau is taken too seriously. Here, they see gambling more like a business venture than a source of leisure and fun. The casinos in Macau prohibit alcohol, and there are only a few lounges where people are allowed to smoke. The city is designed for professional or expert casino enthusiasts that enjoy playing in a sophisticated casino gambling setting.

When you look at the fun derived from casinos from the extra gambling angle, you will realize that players in Las Vegas have access to theaters, bars, restaurants, and many other entertainment spaces just in the casino arenas. So, you will have a very loud and bright leisure and entertainment atmosphere in Vegas casinos. This is not the same with Macau casinos, though most of them also have some of the best restaurants, with very well trained celebrity chefs.
